Yucatan

Wow I bungled the last post so let’s try again. Yesterday was spent by the pool again and ended with taco night and a mariachi band. We were up early this morning to go snorkeling offsite. What a great choice. We met Manuel our guide and headed off to Akumal to swim in a lagoon near the ocean. Lots of parrot fish and other fish to see and then the tourists started to pour in. Back in the car we go to the highlight which is to see a cenote. I had heard about these which are caves in the Yucatan area all connected by underwater rivers. Rainwater seeps through the limestone ground and feeds these rivers with mineral rich water There are stalactites and stalagmites and bats, oh my! Quite a cool experience. So glad we went. Now we are off to attend a reception for the golfers staying here for the PGA Mayakoba event.

Pics to come later. Upload trouble and I can’t get rid of those darn trees.

Did you saw off a stalagmite to see what was inside it?

I was trying so hard to snatch one without Manuel looking. Since we didn’t do the purification ceremony before entering the underworld I felt a bit cursed already so no touchie. Just saw the pics of sweet Wyatt and the pirate. I miss our new hamlet! You still feeling good. Lots more spinach for you tomorrow? 🙂 xxx

Sounds like a wonderful day. Are you using wet suits? We fly to N.Y.C. Sun. and return Wed. Will see Spiderman.
